Subject: Notes on the interconnection of Kidde® and Firex® alarms
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is an updated version of a previous letter regarding the interconnection of Kidde and Firex alarms. It has been updated to include new information regarding the ability to interconnect the Kidde hardwired CO alarms (models 900-0120 and 900-0121) and the new Silhouette smoke alarm to certain Firex alarms. Firex and Kidde have received an Underwriters Laboratory (UL) listing to interconnect the following detection products:
Firex alarms of models:
- AD (1018 series)
- ADC (4518 series) and
- FADC (4618 and 5000 series),
Can be interconnected with Kidde alarms of models:
- AC Smoke Alarms: i12020, i12040, i12060, i12080
- Obsolete AC Smoke Alarms: 1235, 1275, 1276, 1285
- Photoelectric AC Smoke Alarm: PE120
- Dual-Sensor AC Smoke Alarm: PI2000
- Silhouette smoke alarm: KN-SMFM-I (part number 21007288)
- Wireless smoke alarm: RF-SM-AC/DC (part number 1279-9999)
- Combination smoke/CO alarm: KN-COSM-IB / 900-0114
- CO alarm: KN-COB-IC / 900-0120

Any questions regarding either the interconnection or testing of Kidde/Firex systems can be directed to me, and I will be happy to answer them.
